The goal of George Mason University's Loudoun County operation is to provide courses that will introduce the Loudoun-area workforce and residents to study in a number of exciting areas, while offering current students a local option toward completion of degree program requirements. The George Washington University Virginia Campus

Old Dominion University is a state-supported regional university, with the main campus located in Norfolk, Virginia. Opened in the fall of 2000, Patrick Henry College is the only private, 4-year, residential college in the county. Patrick Henry focuses on providing higher education with a biblical worldview using apprenticeship methodology. Its goal is to aid in the transformation of American society by training Christian students for careers of public service and cultural influence.

Shenandoah University's Northern Virginia Campus

The university is located on Route 7 in Leesburg. Programs at this campus focus on business, technology, education and school administration, and nursing.
