Assist the APVVFD in developing a portfolio (hard copy and digital copy) capturing the history of the organization to its present time. Performs historical research, interviews personnel, and prepaares analytical historical publications documenting findings. Assembles and presents historical document repositories for reference and research.
The mission of the Leesburg Fire Company is to protect life, property and health of the citizens of The Town of Leesburg and Loudoun County through fire education, prevention,suppression and emergency medical services.
Fire and rescue services in Loudoun County are provided through a combination system that includes nearly 500 career and over 1,400 volunteer personnel.
The Department of Fire, Rescue and Emergency Management, in conjunction with leadership of the volunteer component, coordinates Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) that include: emergency response; the administration and delivery of fire, EMS and related training; fire prevention and investigation; hazardous materials, wild land firefighting; and swift water rescue.
The department also provides administration of the E-911 emergency communications center, public education, and the coordination and mitigation of large-scale emergencies and disasters utilizing an "all hazards" approach.
It is the mission of the combined Fire and Emergency Medical Services system of Loudoun County to provide residents and visitors with efficient and cost-effective fire protection, rescue and emergency medical services. The system also responds to and mitigates hazardous materials and related life safety and property threatening incidents, utilizing state of the art equipment and a staff of highly-trained volunteer and career personnel located in strategically placed facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squads mission is to provide emergency medical and other life saving services to the people of Leesburg, VA and the surrounding communities.
The volunteer fire and rescue system in Loudoun County has approximately 1,200 highly trained professional volunteers providing life and property saving services every day to one of the fastest growing counties in the country. You might be surprised to learn that volunteers outnumber paid County EMS, fire and rescue staff by four to one! And according to the latest estimates, the volunteer system saves Loudoun County taxpayers more than $14 million per year.
The company’s mission is to provide fire protection and emergency services to the citizens of Purcellville and surrounding communities of Lincoln and Hillsboro, while also providing mutual aid to Hamilton, Round Hill, Philomont, Lovettsville and all communities in western Loudoun County. On occasion, we have provided assistance to Clarke, Fauquier, and Fairfax Counties in Virginia, Jefferson County in West Virginia and Frederick County in Maryland. We are routinely certified by the Commonwealth as a Non-Transport Basic Life Support (BLS) provider.
